Very expected game when 9th ranked Helmi Basket (3-17) was smashed by fifth ranked ViVe (12-8) in Vimpeli 93-70 on Saturday. The game without a history. ViVe led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They also forced 23 Helmi Basket turnovers. The winners were led by American guard Sydney Coffey (183-93, college: Marist, agency: LBM Management) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 24 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists (was perfect 8-for-8 from the free throw line) and the other American import swingman Pachis Roberts (180-94, college: Georgia) supported her with 21 points and 12 rebounds. Coffey is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Even 21 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists by international guard Sara Bejedi (166-0) did not help to save the game for Helmi Basket. International guard Lotta-Maj Lahtinen (176-99) added 25 points and 6 rebounds for the guests. ViVe maintains fifth position with 12-8 record. Helmi Basket lost fifth consecutive game. They keep the ninth place with 17 games lost. ViVe will meet bottom-ranked Aanekosken (#10) in the next round where they are favorite. Helmi Basket will play against Kouvottaret in Kouvola and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
