There was a small surprise in San Juan del Puerto where eighth ranked San Juan (7-9) won against 6th ranked Benahavis (7-9) 88-83 on Saturday. San Juan dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Benahavis' 34. Alvaro Lopez scored 24 points (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) to lead the charge for the winners and guard Antonio Rodriguez (185-78) chipped in 17 points and 4 assists during the contest. At the losing side American Willie Williams (-88) responded with 20 points and 9 rebounds and Senegalese forward Serigne Sow (202-94) scored 8 points and 11 rebounds. Four Benahavis players scored in double figures. San Juan moved-up to fourth place in Group D-B, which they share with 4 other teams including defeated Benahavis. San Juan will face San Fernando (#9) on the road in the next round where they are favorite. Benahavis will play against Sevilla 2 (#10) and hope to win that game.
