Regular Season Round 19: Myrtia - Navarra 64-58

An interesting game took place in Murcia where higher ranked Navarra (10-9) was upset on the court of eleventh ranked Myrtia (9-10) 64-58 on Saturday. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 17-13. But Navarra won second period 17-16. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. It was a great evening for British Matthew Don (201-93, college: Cameron) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 10 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). Italian-Argentinian swingman Juan-Ignacio Jasen (196-85) helped adding 9 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists. Myrtia's coach Quini Garcia used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. At the losing side American-Ivorian forward Moussa Kone (203-93, college: Hofstra, agency: Dynamics Global Management) responded with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 11 rebounds and forward Adrian Garcia (201-85) scored 10 points and 9 rebounds. Four Navarra players scored in double figures. Myrtia moved-up to tenth place. Loser Navarra keeps the seventh position with nine games lost. Myrtia will face Fundacion 5+11 (#14) in Baskonia in the next round.
