Important game to mention about took place in Santo Andre. Third ranked Blumenau (2-1) saved a 1-point victory on the road edging second-ranked Santo Andre (3-2) 62-61 on Saturday evening. Guard Mariana De-Almeida (180-85, college: ORU) nailed 20 points for the winning side and the former international center Fernanda Bibiano (193-85) accounted for 10 points and 9 rebounds. Blumenau's coach Joao Camargo allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. The former international guard Debora Fernandes (165-91) came up with 18 points and 6 rebounds and the former international center Silvia Valente (186-82) added 12 points and 6 rebounds respectively for Santo Andre in the defeat. Despite that victory Blumenau went down to fourth position due to points difference, which they share with Sampaio. Santo Andre at the other side keeps the second place with two games lost. They share the position with SBC/Brazolin/UNIP. Blumenau will play against league's leader Campinas in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Santo Andre will play against Funvic/Ituano and hopes to get back on the winning track.
