Everything went according to plan in Katowice where second ranked AZS AWF Mick. (17-3) outleveled 6th ranked MKS DG 2 (10-10) 117-89 on Saturday. AZS AWF Mick. dominated down low during the game scoring 78 of its points in the paint compared to MKS DG 2's 44 and made 24-of-31 free shots (77.4 percent) during the game. They outrebounded MKS DG 2 37-21 including a 30-14 advantage in defensive rebounds. AZS AWF Mick. looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists comparing to just 11 passes made by MKS DG 2's players. The best player for the winners was guard Karol Leszczynski (190-87) who scored 26 points and 5 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field). Power forward Piotr Karpacz (202-98) chipped in 21 points, 7 rebounds and 4 blocks. AZS AWF Mick.'s coach felt very confident that he used entire bench and allowed the starting five to rest. At the other side the best for losing team was Patryk Piszczatowski (190-98) who recorded 27 points, 5 rebounds, 5 assists and 5 steals and point guard Adam Skiba (182-99) added 18 points and 5 assists respectively. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. The victory was the third consecutive win for AZS AWF Mick.. They maintain second place in Group C with 17-3 record behind leader Gornik Walbrzych. MKS DG 2 lost their third game in a row. They dropped to the seventh position with ten games lost. AZS AWF Mick. will face Bielsko-Biala (#10) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. MKS DG 2 will play against Wisla Krakow and hope to win that game.
