Regular Season Round 24: Haneda Vickies - JX-Eneos S. 60-79

WJBL top team - JX-Eneos S. (23-1) had no problems winning another game. This time they crushed ninth ranked Haneda Vickies (7-17) in Tokyo 79-60. The game was mostly controlled by JX-Eneos S.. Haneda Vickies was better in fourth quarter 24-11. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. JX-Eneos S. forced 19 Haneda Vickies turnovers. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. JX-Eneos S. brought some defensive toughness making 7 blocks. The winners were led by the former international power forward Ramu Tokashiki (191-91) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 21 points, 11 rebounds and 6 assists and the former international forward Yuka Osaki-Mamiya (185-90) supported her with 16 points and 6 rebounds. Even 20 points and 5 assists by guard Nanoko Motohashi (164-93) did not help to save the game for Haneda Vickies. Forward Makoto Hoshizawa (181-95) added 10 points and 7 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. JX-Eneos S. have an impressive nine-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains first position with 23-1 record. Haneda Vickies lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the ninth place with 17 games lost. They share the position with Aishin AW. JX-Eneos S. will play against Hitachi Cougars (#8) in Hitachinaka in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Haneda Vickies will play on the road against Toyota B SR in Aichi and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
