Very predictable result when second ranked Faros Keratsiniou (13-1) smashed at home 11th ranked Panathlitikos (3-11) 81-45 on Sunday. The game without a history. Faros Keratsiniou led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Panathlitikos to just 7 points in second quarter. Faros Keratsiniou forced 22 Panathlitikos turnovers and outrebounded them 51-25 including a 19-8 advantage in offensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was point guard Zoi Kechagia (170-79) who scored 15 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists. American forward Jade Walker (185, college: St.John's) chipped in 16 points and 6 rebounds. Canadian forward Micaella Riche (188-92, college: Minnesota) produced 16 points and 7 rebounds and point guard Eleni Syra (167-95) added 4 points and 4 steals respectively for the guests. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Faros Keratsiniou have an impressive eight-game winning streak. Newly promoted Faros Keratsiniou maintains second position with 13-1 record behind leader Olympiacos. Panathlitikos lost fourth consecutive game. They dropped to the tenth place with 11 games lost. They share the position with Olympiacos Volou. Faros Keratsiniou will meet bottom-ranked Panathinaikos (#12) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Panathlitikos will play against Dafni Agioy and hope to secure a win.
