An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Kiryat Gat. First ranked Maccabi Rehovot faced 3rd placed Maccabi K/G. Guests from Rehovot (14-3) defeated host Maccabi K/G (11-6) 108-101. Maccabi Rehovot made 23-of-29 free shots (79.3 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 28 assists. 24 personal fouls committed by Maccabi K/G helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The best player for the winners was American swingman Marcus Relphorde (198-88, college: Colorado, agency: Ron Sport) who scored 27 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. Eliav Ohanon (199-94) chipped in 24 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists (on 9-of-10 shooting from the field). Five Maccabi Rehovot players scored in double figures. The former international center Robert Rothbart (217-86, agency: Octagon Europe) produced a double-double by scoring 24 points and 10 rebounds and American point guard Keddric Mays (183-84) added 20 points respectively for the hosts. Maccabi Rehovot maintains first place with 14-3 record. Maccabi K/G lost third consecutive game. They keep the third position with six games lost. They share it with Hapoel B/S. Maccabi Rehovot are looking forward to face Maccabi Raanana (#7) at home in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Maccabi K/G will play against Maccabi K/M (#11) in Kiryat Motzkin and is hoping to prove to their supporters that they can break losing series.
