ASEAN League top team - Hong Kong Hong Kong ELL (10-2) managed to deliver another win on Thursday. This time they beat eighth ranked Malaysian Westports MD (3-9) 104-92. Hong Kong ELL looked well-organized offensively handing out 29 assists comparing to just 16 passes made by Westports MD's players. American players dominated the game. Guard Marcus Elliott (191-84, college: Louisiana Tech) notched a triple-double by scoring 24 points, 11 rebounds and 15 assists to lead the effort and guard Tyler Lamb (196-91, college: Long Beach St.) supported him with 28 points, 6 rebounds, 6 assists and 4 steals. Even a double-double of 30 points, 10 rebounds and 7 assists by guard Joshua Munzon (191-95, college: CS Los Angeles) did not help to save the game for Westports MD. Center AJ West (206-91, college: Nevada) added 12 points and 16 rebounds for lost side. Five Westports MD players scored in double figures. Hong Kong ELL maintains first position with 10-2 record. Westports MD lost fifth consecutive game. They keep the eighth place with nine games lost. Hong Kong ELL will meet at home Chongson (#4) in the next round. Westports MD will play against Saigon Heat (#6) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
