Regular Season Round 17: Svendborg - Stevnsgade 73-75

The most exciting game of round 17 in the Ligaen took place in Svendborg. This derby game ended with only two-point home defeat of 6th ranked Svendborg (5-11) to eighth ranked Stevnsgade (2-13) 75-73 on Thursday evening. Svendborg cut a 17-point halftime deficit to two at the end of the game. It was a great shooting night for Stevnsgade especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 58.8 percentage. The best player for the winners was FYR Macedonian forward Boris Vukicevic (190-98) who scored 17 points and 5 rebounds. Forward Stefan Jevric (201-98) chipped in 10 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists. American forward Demonte Flannigan (201-95, college: Cleveland St.) produced a double-double by scoring 21 points and 11 rebounds and the other American import guard Terrell Harris (191-93, college: Georgia Coll.) added 15 points and 6 rebounds respectively for the hosts. Five Stevnsgade and four Svendborg players scored in double figures. Svendborg's coach Luca Ciaboco tried various players' combinations and tested in total eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Stevnsgade maintains eighth place with 2-13 record. Svendborg lost fifth consecutive game. They keep the sixth position with 11 games lost. Stevnsgade are looking forward to face league's second-placed Bakken in Risskov in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Svendborg will play at home against Randers (#5) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
