Regular Season Round 21: Scauri - Salerno 68-97

Date: February 8, 2018
There was no surprise when 9th ranked Scauri (9-12) was crushed at home by fifth ranked Salerno (15-5) 97-68 on Thursday. Salerno made 17-of-20 free shots (85.0 percent) during the game. Salerno outrebounded Scauri 36-23 including a 30-16 advantage in defensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was guard Marco Cucco (189-94, agency: Players Group) who scored 19 points and 5 rebounds. Point guard Federico Di-Prampero (193-95) chipped in 20 points and 6 rebounds. Five Salerno players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was Andrea Longobardi (199-94) who recorded 19 points and 8 rebounds and forward Davide Serino (199-81) added 19 points and 7 rebounds respectively. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Salerno moved-up to fourth place in B. Loser Scauri keeps the ninth position with 12 games lost. Salerno will face Roma Tiber (#9) at home in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. Scauri will play against Valmontone and hope to win that game.
