Regular Season Round 19: Nantes - Vichy Clermont 73-82

Everything could happen at the game between two tied teams. Both twelfth ranked JA Vichy and 14th ranked Nantes had identical 6-12 record. But Nantes was not able to use a home court advantage and lost to the opponent from Vichy 82-73. It looked good early as Nantes took a 5-point small lead at the end of first quarter. Then JA Vichy had a 26-11 second period charge getting the lead and Nantes was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 73-82. JA Vichy forced 23 Nantes turnovers. It was an exceptional evening for David Denave (193-85) who led the winners and scored 25 points and 6 steals. American-German center Waverly Austin (211-91, college: Oregon, agency: Octagon Europe) came up with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 12 rebounds and naturalized Ivorian swingman Guy-Landry Edi (202-88, college: Gonzaga, agency: Promotex) added 14 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists respectively for Nantes in the defeat. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. JA Vichy (7-12) moved-up to tenth place, which they share with 3 other teams. Nantes lost sixth consecutive game. They keep the fourteenth position with 13 games lost. JA Vichy's next round opponent will be Poitiers (#13) at home. Nantes will play against Denain Voltaire and hope to win that game.
