Everything could happen in Vitoria at the game between two tied teams. Both third ranked Baskonia and 5th ranked Unicaja Malaga had identical 12-7 record. This time Baskonia used a home court advantage and won against the opponent from Malaga 96-78 on Saturday night. The hosts trailed by 8 points after first quarter, but they stormed back and won the game by 18 points. Baskonia dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Unicaja Malaga's 32. Baskonia had a 28-15 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 28 assists. The best player for the winners was Georgian Tornike Shengelia (206-91) who scored 21 points and 9 rebounds. They maintain third position with 13-7 record having five points less than leader Real Madrid, which they share with FC Barcelona. Loser Unicaja Malaga keeps the fifth place with eight games lost. They share the position with Gran Canaria and Fuenlabrada. Baskonia will meet Zaragoza (#14) on the road in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Unicaja Malaga will play against Movil Estudiantes (#12) in Madrid and hope to secure a win.
