Regular Season Round 17: Psychiko - Peristeri GS 62-75

A2 top team - Peristeri GS (17-0) managed to deliver another win. This time they beat ninth ranked Psychiko (8-9) in Athens 75-62. Psychiko was ahead by 6 points at the halftime before a 43-24 second half run of Peristeri GS. They outrebounded Psychiko 46-35 including 31 on the defensive glass. American-Bulgarian point guard Keydren Clark (180-84, college: St.Peter's) nailed 26 points for the winning side and guard Thanasis Konstantakopoulos (198-88) accounted for 10 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists. Point guard Thomas Nikou (185-80) came up with 15 points and 9 assists and forward Petros Noeas (204-87) added 13 points and 7 rebounds respectively for Psychiko in the defeat. Four Psychiko players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Peristeri GS have an impressive series of seventeen victories in a row. Newly promoted Peristeri GS maintains first place with 17-0 record. Psychiko lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the eighth position with nine games lost. They share it with 3 other teams. Peristeri GS will play against Arkadikos (#13) in Arkadia in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Psychiko will play at home against Ethnikos (#8) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
