Regular Season Round 23: Jaguarzo Adepla - Huelva 90-85

There was a surprise result in Plasencia where eighth ranked Jaguarzo Adepla (8-9) won against 3rd placed Huelva (9-8) 90-85 on Saturday. Jaguarzo Adepla looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists comparing to just 7 passes made by Huelva's players. The best player for the winners was American forward David Atkinson (203-91, college: Salem Intern.) who scored 32 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. Serbian center Dusan Kostic (205-94) chipped in 21 points. Argentinian-Italian swingman Julian-Horacio Lopez (190-79) produced 14 points and 7 rebounds and the former international center Juan-Ignacio Romero (213-73) added 16 points respectively for the guests. Four Jaguarzo Adepla and five Huelva players scored in double figures. The victory was the fourth consecutive win for Jaguarzo Adepla. They moved-up to fourth place in Group D-B, which they share with Cordobasket and Benahavis. Loser Huelva keeps the third position with eight games lost. Jaguarzo Adepla will face league's second-placed ULB OH!TELS in La Linea in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Huelva will play at home against Benahavis and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
