Regular Season Round 23: Santurtzi - Burgos 69-64

No shocking result in a game when fifth ranked Santurtzi (14-6) defeated at home 7th ranked Burgos (11-14) 69-64 on Saturday. The hosts started the game with a very strong first quarter 24-9. But Burgos won second period 14-10. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The best player for the winners was forward Juan Torres (196-92) who scored 13 points and 8 rebounds. Point guard Jon Betolaza (179-93) chipped in 13 points, 6 assists and 5 steals. Estonian Robert Valge (192-97) produced 20 points and 5 rebounds and center Mario Tobar (200-88) added 13 points and 9 rebounds respectively for the guests. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players in such tough game. Santurtzi moved-up to third place in Group A-A, which they share with Pielagos and Easo. Burgos lost their fourth game in a row. They keep the seventh position with 14 games lost. Santurtzi will face league's second-placed Zornotza in Amorebieta-Echano in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Burgos will play at home against Valladolid Univ. (#8) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
