The game in Kuala Lumpur supposed to be also quite interesting. Sixth ranked Vietnamese Saigon Heat (6-6) played at the court of 8th ranked Malaysian Westports MD (3-10). Saigon Heat smashed Westports MD 114-81 on Sunday. Saigon Heat dominated down low during the game scoring 70 of its points in the paint compared to Westports MD's 42. Saigon Heat forced 21 Westports MD turnovers. The best player for the winners was Jamaican-American guard Akeem Scott (185-83, college: High Point) who scored 24 points, 9 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals. American-Nigerian power forward Maxie Esho (206-91, college: Massachusetts, agency: Two Points) chipped in 25 points and 9 rebounds. Scott is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top summer league for players who want to play basketball overseas. Four Saigon Heat players scored in double figures. American center AJ West (206-91, college: Nevada) produced a double-double by scoring 22 points and 17 rebounds and the other American import guard Joshua Munzon (191-95, college: CS Los Angeles) added 17 points, 13 rebounds and 5 assists respectively for the hosts. Westports MD's coach gave up on the game allowing to play ten players seeing no chance for a win. Saigon Heat maintains sixth place with 6-6 record. Westports MD lost their sixth game in a row. They keep the eighth position with ten games lost. Saigon Heat will meet higher ranked Singapore Slingers (#4) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Westports MD will play against Formosa D. (#9) in Changhua City and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
