No shocking result in a game when fourth ranked Lahti (12-6) crushed at home 10th ranked Forssan Koripojat (4-14) 102-82 on Sunday. The game was mostly controlled by Lahti. Forssan Koripojat was better in third quarter 26-23. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Lahti dominated down low during the game scoring 48 of its points in the paint compared to Forssan Koripojat's 24. They outrebounded Forssan Koripojat 42-24 including a 35-19 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a good game for American power forward Henry Pwono (203-91, college: East Central) who led his team to a victory with 24 points and 7 rebounds (on 11-of-12 shooting from the field). Guard Sami Ikavalko (188-89) contributed with 11 points, 5 rebounds, 7 assists and 4 steals for the winners. Lahti's coach Mike Oppland used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to get some rest. American forward Juwan Howard-Jr (200-92, college: Detroit Mercy) replied with 24 points and forward Markus Molenius (203-92, agency: Octagon Europe) added 16 points in the effort for Forssan Koripojat. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Lahti maintains fourth position in Division with 12-6 record. Loser Forssan Koripojat keeps the tenth place with 14 games lost. Lahti will face Jarvenpaa (#12) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Forssan Koripojat will play against Jyvaskyla BA and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
