Regular Season Round 18: MuKi - HyPo 69-76

Very important is a home loss of second ranked MuKi (15-3) against seventh ranked HyPo (9-9) on Sunday night. Host MuKi was defeated by HyPo in a tough game in Helsinki 69-76. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But MuKi won fourth quarter 21-19. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. American guard DVon Campbell (185-92, college: Campbellsville) scored 34 points (!!!), 6 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals to lead the charge for the winners and forward Ilkka Blomqvist (196-84) chipped in 6 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists during the contest. The best for the losing side was American swingman Calvin Ward-III (188, college: Missouri Valley) with 12 points and 9 rebounds and guard Robin Avist (190-0) scored 13 points and 5 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. HyPo maintains seventh position in Division with 9-9 record. MuKi at the other side keeps the second place with three games lost. HyPo will play against higher ranked JyWe (#6) in Jyvaskyla in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. MuKi will play on the road against PuHu Juniorit (#12) in Vantaa and hopes to get back on the winning track.
