Regular Season Round 23: Leon - Innova Chef 83-77

Everything could happen at the game between two tied teams. Both fourth ranked Leon and 7th ranked Innova Chef had identical 10-9 record. This time Leon used a home court advantage and won against the opponent from Zamora 83-77 on Sunday night. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Innova Chef won third quarter 26-20. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The game was decided in the last minutes when Leon won last quarter 17-13. They dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Innova Chef's 32. The best player for the winners was American forward Colby Taylor (198-94, college: Central, agency: Dynamics Global Management) who scored 20 points and 8 rebounds. His fellow American import center Nigel Holley (206-95, college: Francis Marion) chipped in a double-double by scoring 17 points and 11 rebounds. Five Leon players scored in double figures. Leon's coach used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. American swingman Corey Raley-Ross (193-91, college: Buffalo) produced 27 points and 6 rebounds and point guard Pedro de-la-Calle (185-91) added 23 points respectively for the guests. Leon maintains fourth place in Group A-B with 11-9 record. Loser Innova Chef dropped to the fifth position with ten games lost. Leon will face Naron (#12) at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Innova Chef will play against Estudiantes L. (#10) in Lugo and hope to win that game.
