Regular Season Round 18: Thor Thorl - Tindastoll 85-89

No shocking result in a game when fourth ranked Tindastoll (13-5) beat 9th ranked Thor Thorl (7-11) in Thorlakshofn 89-85. Thor Thorl was tied at the half but could not keep up in last two quarters eventually losing the game. Tindastoll players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. The best player for the winners was American forward Antonio Hester (198-90, college: Mobile, AL) who had a double-double by scoring 24 points, 11 rebounds and 5 assists (went 10 for 10 at the free throw line !!!). The former international Axel Karason (193-83) chipped in 18 points and 7 rebounds. Hester is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Tindastoll's coach Israel Martin allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. At the other side the best for losing team was international Emil Einarsson (196-94) who recorded 19 points and 8 rebounds and guard Halldor Hermannsson (188-97) added 11 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists respectively. Five Thor Thorl players scored in double figures. Tindastoll moved-up to third place, which they share with IR. Thor Thorl at the other side keeps the ninth position with 11 games lost. Tindastoll's next round opponent will be bottom-ranked Hottur (#12) in Egilsstadir and are hoping to win another game. Thor Thorl will play on the road against Valur in Reykjavik and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
