Regular Season Round 18: Stevnsgade - Naestved 71-93

The game in Stevnsgade supposed to be also quite interesting. Fourth ranked Naestved (11-7) played at the court of 8th ranked Stevnsgade (2-15). Naestved smashed Stevnsgade 93-71 on Tuesday. The game was mostly controlled by Naestved. Stevnsgade was better in third quarter 25-17. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They made 18-of-20 free shots (90.0 percent) during the game. It was a good game for American forward Kazembe Abif (200-92, college: Drexel) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 12 rebounds (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field). The other American import guard Troy Franklin (183-89, college: Coppin St.) contributed with 24 points, 8 assists and 4 steals for the winners. Abif is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Four Naestved players scored in double figures. Forward Filip Rajovic (190-97) replied with 20 points and 5 assists (went 12 for 12 at the free throw line !!!) and FYR Macedonian forward Boris Vukicevic (190-98) added 11 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists in the effort for Stevnsgade. Stevnsgade's coach Ricky Kristensen gave up on the game allowing to play ten players seeing no chance for a win. Naestved moved-up to third place. Loser Stevnsgade stay at the bottom position with 15 games lost. Naestved will face Svendborg (#6) at home in the next round.
