Not a big story in a game in Sorocabana where 15th ranked Liga Sorocaba (2-18) was defeated by thirteenth ranked Joinville (5-16) 64-51 on Wednesday. The guests trailed by 1 point after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 6-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 64-51. American guard Anton Cook (188-95, college: SE Oklahoma) responded with 23 points and center Lucao Moraes (210-94) scored 14 points and 9 rebounds. Liga Sorocaba's coach tested eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Joinville maintains thirteenth position with 5-16 record. Liga Sorocaba lost tenth consecutive game. They stay dead last with 18 lost games. Joinville will face higher ranked Mogi (#3) in Mogi das Cruzes in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Liga Sorocaba will play at home against Caxias do Sul (#8) and hope to win that game.
