Very expected game when 7th ranked Uppsala Basket (6-15) was defeated on the road by third ranked Boras Basket (12-10) 87-80 on Friday. The hosts trailed by 4 points after three quarters before their 28-17 charge, which allowed them to win the game. It was a great shooting night for Boras Basket especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 55.6 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. American Jyles Smith (209-92, college: Savannah St.) fired 18 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. Icelandic point guard Jakob Sigurdarson (192-82, college: Birm.Southern) chipped in 22 points and 5 assists (made all of his nine free throws !!!). Four Boras Basket players scored in double figures. The former international Viktor Gaddefors (201-92) produced 24 points and 6 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) and swingman Axel Nordstrom (193-91, agency: Dynamics Global Management) added 21 points and 5 assists respectively for lost side. Uppsala Basket's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Boras Basket maintains third position with 12-10 record having three points less than leader BC Lulea. Uppsala Basket lost third consecutive game. They keep the seventh place with 15 games lost. Boras Basket will meet bottom-ranked Nassjo (#8) on the road in the next round where they are favorite. Uppsala Basket will play against Umea and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
