Very predictable result when third ranked HLA Alicante (15-6) won against 13th ranked Agustinos-Leclerc (8-13) in Leon 77-63 on Friday. The guests trailed by 3 points at the halftime before their 40-23 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. It was a good game for point guard Alvaro Lobo (192-92, agency: Duran International) who led his team to a victory with 22 points. Forward Jorge Lafuente (196-91) contributed with 7 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. Lobo is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. HLA Alicante's coach David Varela used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to get some rest. American forward Donovan Smith (206, college: Quinnipiac) answered with 19 points and 7 rebounds and point guard Jose Medina (185-93) added 8 points and 5 assists in the effort for Agustinos-Leclerc. HLA Alicante maintains third place with 15-6 record behind leader La Roda. Agustinos-Leclerc lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the thirteenth position with 13 games lost. HLA Alicante will face Plasencia (#11) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Agustinos-Leclerc will play against Fontedoso Carrefour in Avila and hope to win that game.
