Important game to mention about took place in Melilla. Third ranked Medacbasket (12-6) saved a 2-point victory on the road edging one of their biggest challengers CAM E.Soler (10-7) 75-73 in the fight for the third place. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of CAM E.Soler. The guests trailed by 1 point after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 2-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 75-73. It was a good game for American forward Deshawn Curtis (198-92, college: Cheyney) who led his team to a victory with 15 points and 5 rebounds. The other American import forward R.J. McGhee (198, college: Oklahoma City) contributed with 16 points and 4 steals for the winners. American guard Jarvis Haywood (193-94, college: William Penn) replied with 20 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) and center Javier Gonzalez (207-92) added 22 points and 9 rebounds in the effort for CAM E.Soler. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Medacbasket maintains third position in Group D-A with 12-6 record having just three points less than leader Vic. Loser CAM E.Soler keeps the fourth place with seven games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
