Regular Season Round 24: Sevilla 2 - San Fernando 66-74

Everything went according to plan when eighth ranked San Fernando (8-10) defeated on the road bottom-ranked Sevilla 2 (4-14) 74-66 on Saturday. The guests started the game with a very strong first quarter 22-10. But Sevilla 2 won third quarter 30-16. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The game was decided in the last minutes when San Fernando won last quarter 22-15. San Fernando shot 25 for 40 from the free-throw line, while Sevilla 2 only scored eight points from the stripe. Sevilla 2 was plagued by 28 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a good game for guard Justo Pelayo (194-93) who led his team to a victory with 20 points. Guard Juan-Miguel Pina (189-96) contributed with 16 points and 5 steals for the winners. Lithuanian forward Tomas Balciunas (202-0) replied with 16 points and 5 rebounds and Montenegrin guard Stefan Vlahovic (194-1) added 13 points in the effort for Sevilla 2. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. San Fernando have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to sixth place in Group D-B, which they share with Utrera and Benahavis. Sevilla 2 lost fifth consecutive game. They stay at the bottom position with 14 games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
