Regular Season Round 18: Rhein MB - Bad Homburg 77-80

Seventh-ranked Rhein Main Baskets (6-10) used its home court advantage to challenge second ranked Homburger TG (13-4) in Langen on Saturday. The visitors from Homburg managed to secure only three-point victory 80-77. However their fans expected much easier game. It was a good game for Spanish Nerea Garmendia who led her team to a victory with 14 points and 9 rebounds. Naturalized Bulgarian guard Gergana Georgieva (181-87) contributed with 20 points for the winners. American forward Tori Fisher (0, college: Colorado Springs) replied with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 13 rebounds and Bosnian power forward Anja Stupar (182-89) added 11 points and 9 rebounds in the effort for Rhein Main Baskets. Four Rhein Main Baskets players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Homburger TG have a solid four-game winning streak. They maintain second position in South with 13-4 record behind leader Freiburg. Rhein Main Baskets lost fourth consecutive game. They dropped to the eighth place with ten games lost. Homburger TG are looking forward to face Weiterstadt (#4) at home in the next round. Rhein Main Baskets will play against Ladybaskets Wuerzburg (#6) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
