Regular Season Round 24: Easo - Pielagos 94-70

Date: February 17, 2018
The game between closely ranked teams ended with one of their biggest challengers Pielagos' (15-7) road loss to third ranked Easo (15-7) in San Sebastian 70-94 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Easo. Pielagos was better in fourth quarter 29-17. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. It was a great shooting night for Easo especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 52.4 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists comparing to just 11 passes made by Pielagos' players. It was a good game for Mikel Sanz (195-99) who led his team to a victory with 21 points and 8 rebounds. Forward Mikel Esnaola (200-94, agency: Dynamics Global Management) contributed with 18 points for the winners. Power forward Daniel Garcia (203-97) replied with 18 points and 5 rebounds and American guard Ron Lee (188, college: Cent.Methodist) added 15 points in the effort for Pielagos. Five Easo and four Pielagos players scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Easo have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain third position in Group A-A with 15-7 record having just four point less than leader Vic, which they share with defeated Pielagos. Easo will face Mondragon (#13) at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Pielagos will play against Valle de Egues (#14) and hope to win that game.
