Regular Season Round 25: Toshiba BT - Hokkaido L. 82-79

Sixth-ranked Hokkaido L. (19-19) made lots of trouble for third ranked Toshiba Thunders (25-13) in Kanagawa on Saturday. Toshiba Thunders managed to secure only three-point victory 82-79. However their fans expected easier game. Toshiba Thunders made 16-of-21 free shots (76.2 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. American power forward Nick Fazekas (211-85, college: Nevada) fired a double-double by scoring 26 points, 14 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Forward Takumi Hasegawa (190-89) chipped in 13 points and 5 assists. Canadian-Italian power forward Marc Trasolini (206-90, college: Santa Clara) produced 21 points and 7 rebounds and American center Daniel Miller (211-91, college: Georgia Tech) added 15 points and 10 rebounds respectively for lost side. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players in such tough game. Toshiba Thunders maintains third place with 25-13 record having four points less than leader Ryukyu GK. Hokkaido L. lost their third game in a row. They keep the sixth position with 19 games lost. Toshiba Thunders will face Yokohama BC (#6) on the road in the next round. Hokkaido L. will play against Nishinomiya S. and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
