Very predictable result when fifth ranked Valls Nutrion (12-6) won against at home 12th ranked JAC Sants (5-13) 74-66 on Saturday. The hosts started the game with a very strong first quarter 22-13. But JAC Sants won second period 20-13. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Valls Nutrion made 16-of-18 free shots (88.9 percent) during the game. Valls Nutrion outrebounded JAC Sants 43-29 including 31 on the defensive glass. It was a good game for Equatorial Guinean forward Oscar Ngomo (197-90) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 12 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists. Forward Marc Gimenez (195-95) contributed with 15 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. Four Valls Nutrion players scored in double figures. Valls Nutrion's coach Francesc Canals used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Javier Balastegui (187-97) replied with 12 points and 4 assists and Ferran Mas (193-97) added 12 points in the effort for JAC Sants. Valls Nutrion moved-up to fourth place in Group C-B, which they share with Igualada and Mollet. Loser JAC Sants keeps the twelfth position with 13 games lost. Valls Nutrion will face higher ranked Palma II (#3) in S'Arenal in the next round and it may be the game of the week. JAC Sants will play on the road against Cerdanyola (#14) in Cerdanyola del Valle and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
