Regular Season Round 24: COB - Betanzos 76-82

Everything went according to plan when eighth ranked Betanzos (12-10) defeated 10th ranked COB (9-13) in Ourense 82-76 on Saturday. Betanzos forced 22 COB turnovers. It was a good game for Senegalese power forward Abdou Thiam (204-98) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 11 rebounds. Guard Guillermo Pereiro (191-89) contributed with 19 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Four Betanzos players scored in double figures. Center Pablo Roman (206-95) replied with 26 points and 9 rebounds (on 11-of-14 shooting from the field) and forward Cristian Iglesias (198-94) added 16 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for COB. Betanzos have a solid four-game winning streak. They moved-up to fourth place in Group A-B, which they share with Leon and Carbajosa. COB lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the eleventh position with 13 games lost. Betanzos will face higher ranked Chantada (#3) on the road in the next round and it may be the game of the week. COB will play against Leon (#4) and hope to win that game.
