Regular Season Round 24: Vive El Masnou - Barbera 75-65

Very expected game when 13th ranked Barbera (6-12) lost to first ranked Vive El Masnou (14-4) in Barcelona 65-75 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Vive El Masnou. Barbera was better in second period 14-11. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Barbera was plagued by 27 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a good game for Albert Valle-Vives (-92) who led his team to a victory with 18 points and 9 assists. Adrian Sanchez contributed with 9 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Center Hernan Olaguibe (203-86) replied with 12 points and 8 rebounds and Cuban center Rangel Ramirez (206-75) added 11 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for Barbera. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Vive El Masnou maintains first position in Group C-A with 14-4 record. Loser Barbera dropped to the twelfth place with 12 games lost. Vive El Masnou will face Roser (#14) at home in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Barbera will play against the league's second-placed Menorca in Mahon and hope to win that game.
