Regular Season Round 23: Varese Robur - Oleggio 77-66

There was a minor upset when 11th ranked Oleggio (10-13) was defeated on the road by fourteenth ranked Varese Robur (7-16) 77-66 on Saturday. Oleggio was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a great evening for point guard Giacomo Bloise (179-90) who led his team to a victory scoring 33 points (!!!) (was perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line). Power forward Davide Rosignoli (203-88) helped adding 8 points and 15 rebounds. Dominican guard Shaquille Hidalgo (188-94) responded with 17 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists and forward Edoardo Gallazzi (200-86) scored 16 points and 5 rebounds. Varese Robur moved-up to thirteenth place in B, which they share with Reggio Emilia and Olginate. Loser Oleggio dropped to the tenth position with 13 games lost. Varese Robur will face higher ranked USE Basket (#11) in Empoli in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
