Regular Season Round 38: Sendai 89ers - Aomori Watts 81-79

Fifth-ranked Aomori Watts (9-28) made lots of trouble for fourth ranked Sendai 89ers (15-22). Sendai 89ers managed to secure only two-point victory 81-79. However their fans expected easier game. Sendai 89ers players were unselfish on offense dishing 28 assists. South Sudanese-American forward Angelo Chol (206-93, college: San Diego St., agency: Two Points) notched a double-double by scoring 28 points and 10 rebounds to lead the effort and U.S. Virgin Islands center Craig Williams (206-89, college: TCU) supported him with 26 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists. Sendai 89ers' coach Toshihiro Goto let to play all 12 players in such tough game. Even a double-double of 30 points, 16 rebounds, 7 assists and 4 steals by American swingman Lakeem Jackson (195-90, college: S.Carolina, agency: SDJ Sports) did not help to save the game for Aomori Watts. Point guard Keisuke Aita (182-95) added 15 points for the guests. Sendai 89ers moved-up to third place, which they share with Yamagata. Aomori Watts at the other side keep the fifth position with 28 games lost. Sendai 89ers' next round opponent will be again Aomori Watts (#5) at home.
