Regular Season Round 23: Lecco - Reggio Emilia 59-69

There was a surprise result when fifteenth ranked Reggio Emilia (7-16) beat on the road 4th placed Lecco (15-8) 69-59 on Sunday. Reggio Emilia made 24-of-27 free shots (88.9 percent) during the game. Reggio Emilia outrebounded Lecco 39-25 including 32 on the defensive glass. Lecco was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a great evening for point guard Jordan Losi (182-80) who led his team to a victory scoring 16 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists (was perfect 11-for-11 from the free throw line !!!). Guard Enrico Germani (198-92) helped adding 17 points and 5 rebounds. Power forward Gaetano Spera (210-93, college: St.Peter's, agency: Players Group) responded with a double-double by scoring 10 points and 10 rebounds and power forward Jacopo Balanzoni (204-93, agency: Interperformances) scored 18 points and 4 steals. Lecco's coach Massimo Meneguzzo rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Reggio Emilia moved-up to thirteenth place in B, which they share with Olginate. Loser Lecco keeps the fourth position with eight games lost. Reggio Emilia will face higher ranked Lugo (#11) at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Lecco will play against Palermo GB (#15) and hope to win that game.
