Regular Season Round 23: Matera - Cerignola Udas 73-65

Very predictable result when ninth ranked Matera (12-11) defeated at home 14th ranked Cerignola Udas (7-16) 73-65 on Sunday. They outrebounded Cerignola Udas 41-29 including 31 on the defensive glass. It was a great evening for center Nicolo Ravazzani (198-85) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 15 rebounds. Swingman Leonardo Battistini (198-95) helped adding 14 points and 11 rebounds. The former international guard Gennaro Tessitore (189-82) responded with 16 points and 5 assists and forward Giovanni Gambarota (190-89) scored 9 points and 7 rebounds. Despite that victory Matera went down to tenth position (B) due to points difference. Newly promoted Cerignola Udas dropped to the thirteenth place with 16 games lost. Matera will face Ortona (#16) on the road in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Cerignola Udas will play against Nardo and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
