Regular Season Round 19: Holargos - Kastoria 106-75

An interesting game for Holargos (16-3) which hosted in Holargos 4th placed Kastoria (11-8). Third ranked Holargos had an easy win 106-75. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Kastoria. The game without a history. Holargos led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They shot 60.3 percent from the field and made 19-of-24 charity shots (79.2 percent) during the game. Holargos shot the lights out from three nailing 17 long-distance shots on high 60.7 percentage. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 27 assists. It was a great evening for American-Hungarian forward Rashad Bell (203-82, college: Boston U.) who led his team to a victory scoring 22 points and 5 rebounds. Angelos Tsamis (192-81) helped adding 15 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field). At the losing side center Nikos Libaris-Psomas (210-84) responded with 13 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists and forward Danis Eleftheriadis (197-89) scored 14 points. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Holargos have an impressive series of eight victories in a row. They moved-up to second place. Newly promoted Kastoria dropped to the fifth position with eight games lost. They share it with Amyntas Dafnis and Doxa Lefkadas. Holargos will play against Amyntas Dafnis (#5) in Athens in the next round. Kastoria will play at home against Iraklis and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
