Not a big story in a game when 9th ranked Olivar (7-11) lost on the road to first ranked Vic (15-3) 85-78 on Saturday. The hosts were tied at the half but managed to speed up in last two quarters eventually winning the game. Vic outrebounded Olivar 39-27 including 24 on the defensive glass. It was a good game for power forward Nil Sabata (205-96) who led his team to a victory with 22 points and 6 rebounds (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field). Power forward Samuel Dominguez (204-91, college: La Palma) contributed with 14 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Vic's coach Didac Herrero used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Forward Jaime Fernandez (203-0) replied with 22 points and 8 rebounds and guard Carlos Alocen (189-0) added 19 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists in the effort for Olivar. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Vic have a solid three-game winning streak. Newly promoted Vic maintains first position in Group C-B with 15-3 record. Loser Olivar keeps the ninth place with 11 games lost. Vic will face Mollet (#5) on the road in the next round. Olivar will play against Andorra II (#11) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
