Everything could happen at the game between two tied teams. Both sixteenth ranked Socar Petkim and 17th ranked Samsun had identical 5-18 record. But Samsun was not able to use a home court advantage and lost to the opponent from Petkim 70-63 on Saturday night. Samsun was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. Worth to mention a great performance of point guard Yunus Akcay (191-89) who helped to win the game recording 18 points and Bulgarian power forward Kaloyan Ivanov (205-86, agency: BeoBasket) who added 14 points and 6 rebounds during the contest. Four Socar Petkim players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was the former international Ulug Kacaniku (202-85) with 14 points and 8 rebounds and Deniz Cevik (194-94, agency: Octagon Europe) scored 14 points. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Socar Petkim (6-18) moved-up to fifteenth place. Samsun lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the sixteenth position with 19 games lost. Socar Petkim will face higher ranked Duzce Belediye (#13) at home in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Samsun will play against Antalyaspor where they are definitely not considered as a favorite in this game either.
