Rather expected game when 7th ranked Visby Ladies (6-11) were crushed on the road by fourth ranked Telge (10-8) 72-51 on Saturday. The hosts trailed by 2 points after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 7-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 72-51. Telge made 20-of-21 free shots (95.2 percent) during the game, while Visby Ladies only scored two points from the stripe. They outrebounded Visby Ladies 43-31 including 33 on the defensive glass. American guard Taylor Wurtz (183-90, college: Wisconsin) fired a double-double by scoring 23 points, 12 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 blocks for the winners. Her fellow American import forward Chelsea Poppens (188-91, college: Iowa St.) chipped in a double-double by scoring 18 points and 13 rebounds. American guard Nici Gilday (175-92, college: Santa Clara) produced 15 points and 6 assists and Slovakian center Regina Palusna (192-89) added 8 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists respectively for lost side. The victory was the third consecutive win for Telge. They maintain fourth place with 10-8 record. Visby Ladies lost their fourth game in a row. They keep the seventh position with 11 games lost. Telge will meet at home bottom-ranked KFUM Uppsala (#10) in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. Visby Ladies will play against IK Eos in Lund and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
