Everything went according to plan when tenth ranked Matera (13-11) won against on the road 16th ranked Ortona (4-20) 83-73 on Sunday. Matera looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. The best player for the winners was naturalized Argentinian swingman Franco Migliori (200-82) who scored 17 points and 7 assists (went 9 for 9 at the free throw line !!!). Swingman Leonardo Battistini (198-95) chipped in 18 points and 9 rebounds. Five Matera players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was naturalized Argentinian swingman Nicolas DArrigo (193-93, agency: Interperformances) who recorded 7 points, 10 rebounds and 6 assists and Serbian power forward Danilo Petrovic (203-99) added 12 points and 9 rebounds respectively. Matera moved-up to ninth place in B. Loser Ortona keeps the sixteenth position with 20 games lost. Matera will face Giulianova (#12) at home in the next round. Ortona will play against the league's leader San Severo (#1) where they are definitely not considered as a favorite in this game either.
