Regular Season Round 20: Sleza Wroclaw - Basket Gdynia 87-83
Date: February 25, 2018
Very expected game when 8th ranked Basket Gdynia (9-9) lost on the road to fourth ranked Sleza Wroclaw (13-5) 87-83 on Sunday. However just four-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Sleza Wroclaw made 20-of-26 free shots (76.9 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. The winners were led by American point guard Sharnee Zoll-Norman (170-86, college: Virginia) who scored that evening 12 points, 6 rebounds and 9 assists and Dutch Kourtney Treffers (187-94, agency: Court Side) supported her with 20 points and 5 rebounds. Five Sleza Wroclaw players scored in double figures. Even 25 points by American forward Kahleah Copper (185-94, college: Rutgers, agency: LBM Management) did not help to save the game for Basket Gdynia. Latvian center Kristine Vitola (193-91, college: UTEP) added 18 points for the guests. Basket Gdynia's coach Gundars Vetra rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Defending champion maintains fourth position with 13-5 record. Loser Basket Gdynia keeps the eighth place with nine games lost. Sleza Wroclaw will meet Enea AZS P. (#10) in the next round where they are favorite. Basket Gdynia will play against MKK Siedlce and hope to secure a win.
