Regular Season Round 24: Gran Canaria II - Teguise 77-61

Very expected game when 16th ranked Teguise (2-18) lost to bottom-ranked Gran Canaria II (9-12) in Las Palmas 61-77 on Wednesday. The game was mostly controlled by Gran Canaria II. Teguise was better in second period 20-17. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Teguise 48-32 including 18 on the offensive glass. Teguise was plagued by 31 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a good game for Montenegrin guard Jovan Kljajic (197-1) who led his team to a victory with 20 points and 7 rebounds. Polish center Aleksander Balcerowski (215-0, agency: Octagon Europe) contributed with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 11 rebounds for the winners. Jose Artiles replied with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 10 rebounds and Latvian guard Dzeiks-Eduards Krumins (186-97) added 10 points in the effort for Teguise. Four Teguise players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Gran Canaria II maintains tenth position in Group B with 9-12 record. Teguise lost sixteenth consecutive game. Newly promoted team keeps the sixteenth place with 18 games lost. Gran Canaria II will face Casvi (#14) in Villaviciosa in the next round. Teguise will play at home against Estudiantes B and hope to win that game.
