Very expected game when 11th ranked Hagen-Haspe (5-17) was defeated at home by sixth ranked Recklinghausen (13-9) 91-81 on Saturday. Recklinghausen dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Hagen-Haspe's 36. It was a great evening for American forward Jarred Jones (201-93, college: Loyola, MD, agency: Court Side) who led his team to a victory scoring 18 points and 7 rebounds. Naturalized Kosovan guard Fahri Breca (190-85, agency: Court Side) helped adding 18 points and 5 assists. Recklinghausen's coach Johannes Huelsmann used an eleven-player rotation and allowed the starting five to get some rest. American point guard Jeremy Lewis (185-86, college: St.Thomas, TX) responded with 29 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists and Georgian-Spanish center Temur Kiknadze (205-92) produced a double-double by scoring 12 points and 10 rebounds (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field). Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. The victory was the fourth consecutive win for Recklinghausen. They moved-up to fifth place in West, which they share with Duesseldorf and Ibbenbueren. Hagen-Haspe lost their third game in a row. They keep the eleventh position with 17 games lost. Recklinghausen will face Kamp-Lintfort (#12) at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Hagen-Haspe will play against Ibbenbueren and hope to win that game.
