Regular Season Round 23: Tuebingen II - Fellbach 76-90

There was a minor upset when 6th ranked Tuebingen II (11-10) was defeated at home by ninth ranked Fellbach (11-11) 90-76 on Sunday. Fellbach dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Tuebingen II's 36. They outrebounded Tuebingen II 38-27 including a 30-17 advantage in defensive rebounds. Fellbach looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. It was a great evening for American center Scooter Gillette (206-90, college: Fair Dickinson) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 30 points and 11 rebounds. Naturalized Polish point guard David Michalczyk (180-89) helped adding 12 points, 7 rebounds and 12 assists. Five Fellbach players scored in double figures. Naturalized Swiss Robert Zinn (197-95) responded with 26 points and 7 assists and Albanian forward Vildan Mitku (200-83) scored 11 points and 5 rebounds. Fellbach moved-up to eighth place in South-West, which they share with Kaiserslautern. Loser Tuebingen II keeps the sixth position with ten games lost. Fellbach will face BG Karlsruhe (#13) at home in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game.
