Las Animas fired past CD Castro to sweep the series. It looked good early as CD Castro took a 10-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Las Animas took control and eventually winning the game that evening by 25 points. Las Animas outrebounded CD Castro 40-26 including a 31-20 advantage in defensive rebounds. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 23 assists. Colombian-Venezuelan power forward Luis Julio (201-80) fired 18 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) for the winners. American forward Arnold Louis (201-90, college: Savannah St., agency: HMS) chipped in 18 points and 9 rebounds. American forward Rakim Brown (198-91, college: Humboldt St.) produced 17 points and his fellow American import center Yamene Coleman (208-86, college: Troy, agency: Interperformances) added 14 points and 7 rebounds (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field) respectively for lost side. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games.
