The game in Lublin was also quite interesting. Fifth ranked BM Slam Stal (14-8) played at the court of 7th ranked Start (12-9). BM Slam Stal defeated Start 70-57 on Sunday. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Start. The best player for the winners was American point guard Aaron Johnson (173-88, college: UAB, agency: Two Points) who scored 22 points and 5 assists (went 8 for 8 at the free throw line). The former international center Adam Lapeta (217-87, agency: Alti Sport) chipped in 11 points and 9 rebounds. Four BM Slam Stal players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was American point guard James Washington (182-87, college: Middle Tenn.St.) who recorded 18 points and 4 assists and the other American import swingman Chavaughn Lewis (196-93, college: Marist) added 16 points and 5 assists respectively. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. The victory was the sixth consecutive win for BM Slam Stal. They moved-up to fourth place. Loser Start dropped to the eighth position with nine games lost. BM Slam Stal will meet Miasto Szkla (#15) in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Start will play against GTK (#13) in Gliwice and hope to secure a win.
