Regular Season Round 21: Maccabi Raanana - Hap.Haifa 105-72

Very expected game when 10th ranked Hap.Haifa (8-13) was smashed on the road by sixth ranked Maccabi Raanana (13-8) 105-72 on Tuesday. Maccabi Raanana made 19-of-25 free shots (76.0 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 29 assists comparing to just 15 passes made by Hap.Haifa's players. It was a good game for forward Lior Carreira (198-97) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 10 rebounds. American forward Samme Givens (198-89, college: Drexel) contributed with a double-double by scoring 15 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Five Maccabi Raanana players scored in double figures. Cuban center Ismael Romero (203-91, agency: Paris Global Sports) answered with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 13 rebounds and point guard Niv Misgav (169-95) added 24 points in the effort for Hap.Haifa. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Maccabi Raanana have an impressive series of seven victories in a row. They maintain sixth place with 13-8 record. Hap.Haifa lost fifth consecutive game. They dropped to the ninth position with 13 games lost. Maccabi Raanana will face Hap.R/G Givat. (#8) in Givataim in the next round. Hap.Haifa will play at home against the league's leader Maccabi Rehovot and hope to win that game.
