The game between closely ranked teams ended with fourth ranked Bulgarian Academik Plovdiv's (5-6) home victory over 5th ranked Kosovan Bashkimi (5-7) 102-61. Academik Plovdiv dominated down low during the game scoring 48 of its points in the paint compared to Bashkimi's 28. Academik Plovdiv forced 19 Bashkimi turnovers. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 33 assists comparing to just 14 passes made by Bashkimi's players. Dimitar Dimitrov (203-93, agency: Interperformances) nailed 19 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) for the winning side and Vasil Bachev (195-92, college: Cuesta JC) accounted for 18 points. Four Academik Plovdiv players scored in double figures. American forward Vincent Zollo (206-92, college: Cleveland St.) came up with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 12 rebounds and Montenegrin-Kosovan Mikaile Tmusic (189-93) added 13 points and 7 assists respectively for Bashkimi in the defeat. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Academik Plovdiv maintains fourth place with 5-6 record. Bashkimi at the other side keeps the fifth position with seven games lost. Academik Plovdiv will play against higher ranked Levski Sofia (#3) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Bashkimi will have a break next round.
